Sarah Bearah

This is my Sarah
she turned 6 yesterday
My Sarah Bearah
she is a joy to have around!

Seriously,

she is a wonderful girl to have around
she is so happy
and so excited
and so joyful.
She HONESTLY tries to do what is right
she is very concerned with
choosing the right
and obeying rules
and she makes sure
that her sisters are obeying the rules too!

She is my very best helper

she quickly obeys

everyday her room is cleaned and her

bed made

she even makes her little sisters bed

so her room is done all the way.

My beautiful

wonderful

intense

Sarah

life wouldn’t be the same without you

I thank my

Heavenly Father

that he let me be your mother.

A little Something

I read something beautiful last night and I just had to share. It comes from the book “O Pioneers!” by Willa Cather

“Winter has settled down over the Divide again; the season in which Nature recuperates, in which she sinks to sleep between the fruitfulness of autumn and the passion of spring.”

I don’t know why, but something those few lines moved me.

I really should….

be finishing my spring cleaning
but it was such a beautiful day!
60 degrees
and so SUNNY
with a light breeze

sigh…

I do have a HUGE mess outside
I never cleaned up in the fall so this is the mess I get to deal with this spring

I have about 6 TONS of perennials to clean up from the fall to make room for the new little shoots.
So instead of crossing off two more chores on my spring cleaning list I put on a pair of shorts and headed outside.

I really do enjoy working in MY

flower beds

and gardens.

today was just TOO perfect.

I put the little kids to bed, and while the older punks were at school I got busy,

turning on the radio and pouring a big mug of Diet Coke

I really am a little embarrassed because it is such a MESS, but after a couple of hours it is all cleaned up, and ready for the new plants to come up and for some new plants to be, well, planted!

This is what it looked like when I was donenow I only have three more flower beds to go! HA!

I LOVE the feeling of a job well done

the feeling of HARD WORK

the little bit of sunburn on my arms.

IT was a glorious afternoon!

I did plant some new little STRAWBERRIES that were delivered to my door today
(great timing!)

That is my #2 punk’s special garden project, so I waited until she got home to set them in the new

strawberry patch.

Each of the kids has a special vegetable (or fruit) that they picked out, and they are going to be in charge of planting, caring and harvesting their crops.

I am hoping for a good amount of strawberries this year,

and next year I would like to have enough to make

strawberry jam with my OWN,

 home grown fruit!

(keep your fingers crossed for me)

There is something about gardens, plants

and flowers that just

fill my soul.

Yipee!!!

After three long weeks of waiting
Lots of cold spells
A little snow
and
an attack by Cats

TA DA

We have sprouts!!!
Little itty bitty, teeny tiny lettuce sprouts!
Here is a nice little group

In about 3 weeks I will be harvesting my first tender little leaves

Here is a close up

in case you wanted a close up

These bad boys are spinach

Spinach fresh from the garden is Divine!

And you don’t have to worry about that pesky e-coli

Here is a close up of my wonderful spinach plant

aren’t they so cute when they are this tiny!

Now, this means that I will need to go plant my next section of lettuce, that way when this group has been harvested and goes to seed (which will make the plants bitter) I will have a new fresh crop ready for my dinner table!

Beauty

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday
I really love Easter
I love everything it stands for!

I wanted to share some beautiful flowers with you all
My wonderful Hubby sent these to me. I have them sitting on my kitchen table so I can look at them all day. They are just so beautiful.
