My Boys

These two handsome guys are my boys! We have Dadzoo (he is the big one) and Punk #5. This picture was taken on day 4 of our vacation we were taking a walk around Big Springs in Island Park.

Aren’t they cute, a father and his son, enjoying the beautiful world around them.

Punk #5 found an interesting hand hold…

“Hey Dad how far do these things go!”

(he seriously had his finger dug that far into Dadzoo’s ear!)

Day 3, The People

Like I said before, on day three we drove the upper loop and it is mostly driving. I got a little bored, and since the camera was right next to me…..I decided to play paparazzi!

Dadzoo doesn’t like it when I play paparazzi.

Smile Babe!

awww, come on give me some sugar!

Show me that handsome smile!

Come on, you know you want to….

ok, ok, I will be putting the camera down

anyway, I found someone who was much more willing to have his picture taken!

Hey sweet boy!

This is the best picture I could get of my dad,
he doesn’t like to have his picture taken.

Happy Children

Punk #4 and her uncle Chaddy
he was graciously giving her tired 4 year old legs a rest

Day 3

On day three we drove the upper loop. There isn’t as many geological features, most beautiful scenery and wildlife. We did have another siting of a bear. This big guy crossed the street about three cars in front of us. You can see the Park Rangers directing traffic. It was fun for the kids to see the bear so up close. The other in our party saw two big grizzly bears, however we were separated in the “bear jam” and didn’t get to see the creatures.

Vacation, day 2

On the second day of our vacation we went in to Yellowstone Park.

Yellowstone is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the wild life, the beauty and I think the geological features are fascinating. I am amazed at the power of this earth.

We started on the lower loop, it has most of the geological features (hot pot, mud pot, geysers, steam vents…etc).

The beauty and power of it all is stunning

This is “Old Faithful” the most well known geyser in the world.

They call this feature “Dragons Cave” You can hear the water slapping agents the sides of the cave deep down in the earth, there is also a low hissing sound as the steam comes out. It seriously sounds and looks like there is a Dragon inside.

The highlight of the day (besides Old Faithful) was this little beauty we found on a little side road.

He was back in the trees so we stopped for a little bit to watch him. I was amazed how quickly the park rangers got there. They needed to watch to make sure the people weren’t doing anything stupid (like walking towards the bear…which they were!). The bear turned and started coming towards the road and the rangers made us all get in our cars and move along. It was really neat to see and the kids loved it.

We stopped in West Yellowstone on our way back to the cabin for dinner and got home at about 11:00. Completely exhausted!
