Blessings

At first glance, one would think this picture is of a mess, not a blessing.

Well, it isn’t, this is a picture of a big fat blessing.

This summer the kids and I are keeping a journal of the blessing we see each day.  At first, I will be honest, I had a hard time seeing the little things that the Lord does for me each day, but as I started to look I really began to see His hand in my life everyday.

Then came a big blessing.

See all those clothes all over the living room, those are most of the contents of 14 boxes and two garbage bags of hand-me-downs from three different people.  There was something for everyone, excepting my oldest, and all of our “school shopping” is done.  A huge load off my mind, and our budget.

We weren’t able to use all the clothing, and we got rid of some of our older worn out clothing, those will be donated to a local thrift store.

I am so thankful for the generosity of those around me.

We are so blessed.

  1. You have no idea how happy I am to see a post from you this eve! I feel blessed knowing you and your family are safe from the fires I’ve been hearing about!
Also, re: the blessing journal—that is a wonderful idea! Love it:)
    Blessings,

    • Thank you for thinking of me and my family. We were only about a mile away from this latest one, half my city was evacuated, luckly it never got close enough to us that we had to leave, we were on evacuation alert and spent a lot of time that day watching that fire!(I will have to post some pictures later)

There is another fire several hours to the south of us now that has burned homes, I have a feeling it is going to be a long fire season here in the high desert.

  2. I knew you were close to the area affected; I am SO thankful you did not have to evacuate!
It is very hard to see my most beloved and beautiful mountain states on fire…right now, in Colorado, one of the areas dearest to my heart is about a mile from the fire there and has been totally evacuated. All one can do is pray…
I feel badly for those who have lost homes in both CO and UT. I hope both of our feelings on this fire season are wrong.
    Blessings, Aimee

    • HAHA, yes Hailey, 14 of those boxes came from your Mom, I guess she and Mikayla went on a cleaning and sorting binge 😉
